Ontario's First Skype Debate!

Sort of... early in the campaign I had to be out of town for work, so I was permitted by Rogers TV to participate in the debate through skype, instead of having to travel back and forth to do this.   This is one of the early debates, and I have received tremendous feedback from many who have watched it.

What Good is a Healthcare System that doesn't promote Health or Care?

Healthcare is one of our biggest expenses in the province of Ontario, soon to account for 50% of the budget and growing.  If the trend lines were to continue as they are today, with our aging population, healthcare costs could end up being 80% of our budget.  Yet we know that this is impossible. 

 

We also know today that there are things that work about our health care system today, and many things that don't.  I had a personal experience that helped hit home exactly what was wrong with Healthcare.  2 years ago, my younger sister, suffering from mental illness took her own life.
